What is the goal of Claude Corps?

The core idea behind Claude Corps is to bridge the gap between the growing availability of AI tools and the capacity of nonprofit organizations to use them. While the private sector rapidly hires AI talent, thousands of charities, social agencies, and community organizations are left without skilled workers who could help them apply the same tools to increase their impact.

The program is designed as a 12-month paid placement in which fellows work inside nonprofit host organizations, helping them integrate Claude into daily operations — from automating reporting to data analysis and client communications.

Partners and organizational structure

Claude Corps rests on a three-entity structure with clearly defined roles:

• Anthropic — funding and strategic framework
• CodePath — employer of record for fellows, responsible for hiring and training delivery
• Social Finance — impact measurement, evaluation, and long-term scaling

Confirmed nonprofit hosts include Goodwill Industries International, YMCA of Greater Charlotte, International Rescue Committee, Year Up United, Code for America, RAINN, Montgomery County Food Bank, and many others. In total, more than 400 nonprofit organizations are planned for engagement in the first 12 months.

Fellow eligibility and compensation

Eligibility criteria are intentionally low-barrier to make the program accessible to the widest possible pool of candidates:

• Work experience: fewer than 2 years of full-time employment
• Education: no requirements — no degree necessary
• Status: US work authorization
• Technical skills: ability to work with Claude; no programming experience required

• $85,000 per year with a full benefits package

• 5 hours of weekly training plus intensive onboarding when entering the program

The program runs in three cohorts:
