Anthropic: 10 ready-made financial-services agent templates + Claude Opus 4.7 at 64.37% on Vals AI Finance benchmark

Anthropic has released ten ready-made agent templates for financial services work, including pitchbook creation, KYC screening, and month-end closing. Templates ship as plugins within Claude Cowork and Claude Code, and as cookbooks for Claude Managed Agents — enabling financial teams to launch a production Claude agent in days rather than months.

What are the two agent groups?

The first group is research and client coverage with five agents: pitch builder, meeting preparer, earnings reviewer, model builder, and market researcher. The second group is finance and operations with five agents: valuation reviewer, general ledger reconciler, month-end closer, statement auditor, and KYC screener.

KYC (Know Your Customer) is the regulatory process in which a financial institution collects and verifies client identity data to prevent money laundering. Month-end close is the monthly accounting period closing — one of the most operationally demanding tasks in finance.

What is inside each template?

Each template packages three components: skills (defined functions the agent can execute), connectors (connections to external data sources), and subagents (specialized helper agents the main agent can call).

Anthropic notes that Claude Opus 4.7 achieves 64.37% on the Vals AI Finance Agent benchmark, an internal evaluation suite designed for financial analyst tasks. Vals AI measures the agent’s ability to complete a task end-to-end autonomously, not just answer a question.

Which data sources and early users?

The platform integrates with key financial sources: FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, MSCI, Dun & Bradstreet, Fiscal AI, Guidepoint, and Moody’s with over 600 million companies. These integrations cover the bulk of questions around corporate financials, market data, and regulatory checks.

Early users include Citadel, FIS, BNY, Carlyle, Mizuho, Travelers, Walleye, and Hg — a mix of hedge funds, custodial banks, private equity firms, and insurers. This breadth signals that templates are a production offering, not a narrow pilot.
